Darius Rucker can S-I-N-G!
Chanpan, the headline act, impressed with his great voice and ability to mix in a Toby Keith song. Dude could bust out a medley of nursery rhymes and we'd all sing along from his one disc of material. Plus, he closed the set with 'Purple Rain', so, I'd say he cleared the material hurdle with aplomb.
I'd have liked him to have performed a couple of tracks 'Be Wary of A Woman' and 'Thank You', but all in all the show was very good. The show could have been a bit longer. Ever the gentlemen, Chanpan spent equal time reminding us how thankful he's been to be given a new career in country music AND thanking the metro Detroit area, for well, as Bob Seger put it 'the best music fans in the world'.....
There's that 'other band' that he played in, what was its name? He managed to find a way to mix in a Toby Keith song. Chanpan was in great voice.
